Interventional Cardiology

“The needs of the patient come first” was a core value imparted on me during my training at Mayo Clinic and guides my approach to patient care.  I strive to give each patient my full attention and to truly hear their story. It is important to me to be prepared for all clinical encounters, to follow through on plans, and to advocate for patients. The field of cardiology is rapidly advancing, increasingly complex, and often spans multiple disciplines within cardiology and outside the field. It is my goal to educate patients such that they can make the most informed decision about their health.

As an interventional cardiologist I am excited and passionate about coronary intervention, but I also share a similar passion for preventive cardiology. There are several exciting new therapies aimed at lipid management, glucose control and weight loss which can reduce heart attacks and save lives in patients with coronary artery disease.  I also have special clinical interests in management of women’s heart disease.

I joined Idaho Heart Institute in 2021 and could not be more excited to be serving the community, and to finally be back in Idaho. As a fourth generation Idahoan, I grew up on the other side of the state in Eagle and attended the College of Idaho (go Yotes!)  As part of the Idaho WWAMI program I attended the University of Washington for medical school, and then completed internal medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. I completed my general and interventional cardiology training at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon.

In my spare time I enjoy getting outdoors and enjoying all the surrounding area has to offer. I am a great hiker, a so-so runner, and an aspirational backcountry skier.
