Interventional & Structural Cardiology

Cardiology has long fascinated me – and this fascination has grown into a passion specifically for structural heart disease and complex coronary artery interventions.  Gladly, I was able to fill a need in the region. I started a mitral valve repair program (MitraClip) and have acted to expand the TAVR, Watchman, PFO, ASD program incorporating exciting new techniques and technology.  In the appropriate setting, these procedures can improve quality and, in some circumstances, quantity of life.

When I see a patient, I do my best to give them 100% of my focus and attention. A great majority of the time I use a scribe, to help work through the paperwork, in order to focus on the patient in front of me and their medical care. I truly enjoy what I do and the people I surround myself with daily, which I strongly believe translates into better patient care.

Being a strong proponent of utilizing cutting edge information, technology, and data, I continue to regularly review medical journals, as well as, attend medical conferences in cardiology every year to stay up to date in my specialty.

I came from the Northeast, born and raised in Maine. My family and I decided on southeast Idaho because of the professional need of the region for structural heart disease and personal desire to provide my family with a welcoming environment where we could enjoy all the outdoors has to offer.  I am grateful to have found a supportive cardiology group at Idaho Heart Institute and community in Idaho Falls.

During my time off, I spend it shared between my family and the outdoors. I especially enjoy hiking, camping, mountain biking and skiing. As an interventional cardiologist, this is certainly a rewarding opportunity to relieve stress and enjoy some fresh air.
