Brett Hiendlmayr, M.D., FACC
Dr. Hiendlmayr is an Interventional and Structural Cardiologist who values patient-focused care.
With particular interest in complex coronary artery interventions and structural heart disease, Dr. Hiendlmayr enjoys his professional work and time with his colleagues. He is a medical doctor with a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology credential, signifying completion of advanced cardiovascular medical training, among other fellowship criteria.
He started a mitral and tricuspid valve repair program here in our community and aided in the expansion of the Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) program and the Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) program for the treatment. Dr. Hiendlmayr also helped expand the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) program, which involves an open-heart surgery alternative. His work also includes expansion of the Watchman program for minimally invasive care for patients with Atrial Fibrillation (AFib).
He often uses the support of a scribe so that he can better focus his attention on his patients. To keep current as a cardiologist, he attends cardiology conferences and reviews medical journals.
A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Dr. Hiendlmayr completed a medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine, followed by a residency at the University of Massachusetts. He has also completed three fellowships, General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Advanced Interventional and Structural Cardiology at University of Connecticut Health Center and second at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Hiendlmayr was born and reared in Maine. He moved to Eastern Idaho due to a need in the region for structural heart disease care and to be in a welcoming area for his family to enjoy the outdoors. He spends his time with his family and camps, hikes, mountain bikes, and skis.
